Quran 94:1

— Hamidullah

Did We not expand for you, [O Muhammad], your breast?

— Sahih International

Matthew 14:13

— Louis Segond, 1910

When Jesus heard of it, he departed thence by ship into a desert place apart: and when the people had heard thereof, they followed him on foot out of the cities.

— King James Version

Bhagavad Gita 13:32

That Ultimate, High Spirit, Uncreate,
Unqualified, even when it entereth flesh
Taketh no stain of acts, worketh in nought!
Like to the ethereal air, pervading all,
Which, for sheer subtlety, avoideth taint,
The subtle Soul sits everywhere, unstained:

— Edwin Arnold, 1900 (poetic rendering; passage located by content, Arnold does not number verses)

Whispers

Whisper of 2004-02-20, 10:00 — Babuji

Serait-ce gérable, à long terme ?

Peace of mind is never absolutely guaranteed in this world where turbulence is occurring incessantly, sometimes making life difficult. Man cannot lead a peaceful and worry-free existence. Would that be manageable in the long run? How could he grow and make the most of his many resources?

"Doing his soul-searching, assessing his strength and endurance – and especially the confidence and surrender that characterise him in certain situations when his faith is likely to be shaken – that is the challenge he is confronted with. The periods of quietness facilitate self-assessments; they are constructive when done in this spirit and imbued with some wisdom.

"The university of life is continuous; so will it be until the end. There is no rest in this world where everything fluctuates unceasingly. The status quo would signal its end, its annihilation. This does not apply uniquely to the planet Earth; it partakes of the Great Whole, which is itself animated by the universal creative force that is constantly being renewed.

"Movement also characterises our way: everything changes and evolves in it. It cannot escape the divine laws from which it originated. That which surprises man occurs with good reason, even if he does not understand the meaning of events. The dregs have to surface before being eliminated. Whatever the situation, a human being finds he is placed in front of his own conscience, the divine presence in him – and this presence, no one can deceive. During trying moments, withdrawal into oneself is a true comfort; the divine life is free from baseness, and the being spontaneously takes refuge in it." --Reflections
