The ceaseless flow of thoughts is not confined only to the meditation hours, but it continues every moment. The mind, being unregulated, begins to move in conjunction with them, creating all sorts of troubles and disturbances.

Quran 6:125

— Hamidullah

So whoever Allah wants to guide - He expands his breast to [contain] Islam; and whoever He wants to misguide - He makes his breast tight and constricted as though he were climbing into the sky. Thus does Allah place defilement upon those who do not believe.

— Sahih International

Matthew 13:7

— Louis Segond, 1910

And some fell among thorns; and the thorns sprung up, and choked them:

— King James Version

Bhagavad Gita 11:25

da.nShTrAkarAlAni cha te mukhAni
dR^iShTvaiva kAlAnalasannibhAni |
disho na jAne na labhe cha sharma
prasIda devesha jagannivAsa

When I behold Thee so,
With awful brows a-glow,
With burning glance, and lips lighted by fire
Fierce as those flames which shall
Consume, at close of all,
Earth, Heaven! Ah me! I see no Earth and Heaven!

Whispers

Whisper of 2002-09-11, 10:00 — Babuji

— Message du Monde Lumineux (Babuji Maharaj)

Human beings seek outside themselves what they have inside, but all do not know it. In this eternal pursuit of happiness, they often experience only dissatisfaction and disappointments of all sorts, but they persist in the hope of experiencing happiness and love, an extraordinary love, great and beautiful, which cannot, on any account, falter and especially be taken away from them. Man's dream and reality are somewhat different. Nothing is acquired definitively; this has to be borne well in mind. All sorts of attachments generate disappointment, since they are not eternal. What allows man to face up to all these fluctuations in feelings, and to what makes life on this Earth, is precisely what is in man's heart – which is of divine essence, and thus immutable. He comes and drinks from there more and more, when he has understood the principle of it. May this truth become obvious to all men! They will continue to experience tests of all sorts, which are the lot of mankind, but they will no longer be so helpless and disoriented in the face of the precariousness of life, with all its ensuing suffering. Set out to make this special love grow within you; it will not disappoint you. It will be your recourse in all circumstances and will strengthen you, both in situations of joy and sorrow."
