We can construct a house, but if the bricks are laid in a haphazard manner what is the use?

Four voices

Quran 28:88

— Hamidullah

And do not invoke with Allah another deity. There is no deity except Him. Everything will be destroyed except His Face. His is the judgement, and to Him you will be returned.

— Sahih International

Matthew 26:61

— Louis Segond, 1910

And said, This fellow said, I am able to destroy the temple of God, and to build it in three days.

— King James Version

Thou, that hast fashioned men,
Devourest them again,
One with another, great and small, alike!
The creatures whom Thou mak'st,
With flaming jaws Thou tak'st,
Lapping them up! Lord God! Thy terrors strike
From end to end of earth,
Filling life full, from birth
To death, with deadly, burning, lurid dread!

— Edwin Arnold, 1900 (poetic rendering; passage located by content, Arnold does not number verses)

Whispers

Whisper of 2005-02-16, 10:00 — Babuji

When the lesson is understood on Earth, all will become easier. Once the principle is accepted that all has its raison d' être, a new light allows one to consider life from a different angle. Whatever man dislikes about his life actually serves his evolution.

"When wisdom has enabled him to see things in that way, this will be a great leap forward. It is not easy to live in a state of acceptance of all circumstances; it is edifying to look around oneself and to learn the prevailing lessons. The whole of humanity is subjected to the same laws, as well as all that lives in this world.

"Man can grow spiritually by pursuing his sacred quest; there lies the difference. A universe unfolds before him, helping him to understand the reasons for his journey. Each step is meaningful: this has to be accepted. Ordeals are educational. If one comes to terms with them, they elevate the soul towards its ultimate destination. That process takes time. Admitting to that need makes the being grow spiritually.

"Our work consists of guiding our brothers towards acceptance. Without that dimension, the ascent is even harder. Nothing should be neglected in an endeavour like this one. Each one must play his role: the spiritual Master plays his and our aspirants play theirs. A mystical life is articulated around these principles, strict in their practical application.

"To be committed on all levels is the prerequisite for success. While advancing in the way, our brothers become aware of it and they get more and more involved.

--Reflections

A beginner expects everything from the Master; the fervent disciple adds to that reality a profound commitment, which determines his complete success."
